Greece and Sex

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

Continuing on the topic of Greece and sex. It’s one place that I recommend you visit if you haven’t already done so. There’s something for everyone from culture, history and ancient archaeological sites to beach voyeurism. There are plenty of beautiful naked women around, especially on the Greek islands, to admire and enjoy.

One of my favorite hobbies is photography. I love to take photos focusing on landscape and history or archaeological sites. I’m not going to post these types of photos on this site since after all, Pornotology.com is about sex and I know that’s what you want to see. Well in ancient Greece, just like today, you can find sex in art or in everyday objects. I was at the National Archaeology Museum and this marble sculpture caught my attention. I thought the sculpture was pretty cool, there was a lot going on and it was definitely worthy of being photographed.

It centers around the naked Greek goddess of love Aphrodite and Pan with Eros in the background. Eros is horny and is trying to seduce the small-breasted and beautiful Aphrodite while she is trying to fend him off.

Importance of Cock in Ancient Times

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

Throughout ancient history, the cock has been portrayed in sculpture and art. If you wander through the ruins in Pompeii you will find it there in the brothel district and in many other places in Italy from the Roman period. Even in Greece the phallic symbol pops up.

Here’s an odd piece of pottery I saw in northern Greece. I think it was in Pella. It really caught my attention. Pottery in the form of a hard cock. I wonder what this was used for?
