Sex in TV Commercials
It’s amazing how many non-adult companies are using sex and sexual inuendos to sell their products these days in commercials on TV. I’m not talking about beer, hair or cosmetic companies. They’ve been doing this for decades. I’m talking about companies like Kelloggs and their latest commercial for Special K bars. Maybe these companies see this as the only way to get a consumer’s attention or to stand out from other run-of-the-mill commercials. We all know that sex in commercials sells!
One commercial in particular that I saw over the last couple of days is that Special K bar commercial featuring three very hot and sexy looking babes. One of the women is eating a Special K bar, looks like at a meeting, and her female co-worker mentions that 1 Special K bar contains only 90 calories and is equal to 20 minutes of ‘you know what’. The woman eating the bar says she doesn’t know what she means by that comment, but the third girl does. So her friend whispers the ‘you know what’ in her ear. Even during a meeting, sex is on their minds.
There is also a geeky male co-worker who hears all this. I bet he knew what they meant and he’s was probably thinking ‘I’d like to fuck each and every one of them!”
I wonder if in 20 minutes you can burn off 90 calories. Is the number they are using in this commercial correct? Maybe, it’s a lot more?
